How many Bible verses can you come up with that refute this quote from the Book of Mormon? Trent and I figured you could probably find something from each book of the Bible that would contradict this. This quote is a featured page from the 'Plan of Salvation' booklet the missionaries gave me to study. Quite unbelievable.
There are probably others, but theses are the first that come to mind:
ReplyDeleteGen 1:28 - “Be fruitful and multiply” (children pre-fall)
Gen 1:31 - “God saw all he had made and it was very good” (joy pre-fall)
Gen 2:24 - They became one flesh (intercourse pre-fall)
The only potential reason given for God allowing evil in humans in in Romans 9:22-23, which is that He would make known His glory. That does increase our joy, for sure, but to imply that there was no joy pre-fall ignores the whole flow of the Bible, which is longing for restoration to Eden and dwelling with God. We have that in part now, and fully when Jesus returns, on an even better plane than Adam and Eve had.

Thanks Amber! I knew you would have some references for us! Immediately I thought of Genesis when God declared his creation is good.
